Ōtaki Mail Celebrating HEAL

It was a huge honor to have Ōtaki Mail reach out to interview me about the creation of this HEALn Hub in Ōtaki. Tracey Hall came to HEAL (Human Equine Assisted Learning) and met the herd and we sat and chatted for ages about the method, the vision and how greartful I am to have created the first ever HEAL’n Hub here in Ōtaki.

Ōtaki is the most vibrant community full of learning and reo Māori being spoken. To be situated in theheart on this town beside kura like St Peter Chanel Catholic School is a blessing. Since the article was published I have started a pilot programme for St Peter Chanel. I am working with one of their autistic children weekly so that we can gain eveidence to show the funders and supporters the postive impact that HEAL can give to our children. The learning and confidence being built flows beyond the paddock. My aim is to help children become strong resiliant empowered, connected. The focus is on connection through the breath and I ensure every HEAL Method programme is bespoke to the student as this is not a one size fits all kaupapa, this is not a jump in and ride in circles kaupapa - this is deeper than that and creates skills and connection only horses can give.
